“I am very excited to host our first golf tournament together with some of my friends here in Miami, especially in support of a cause that is so close to my heart.”, expressed the singer in a statement.
The foundation has committed to 18 projects that provide safe and loving spaces for thousands of orphaned and disadvantaged children in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, Bolivia, Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador, Bolivia, Chile, Puerto Rico and the United States, according to the release.
This Chicago-based nonprofit organization founded in 2012 aims to “improve the quality of life for orphaned and disadvantaged children in Latin America and the United States.”
The Celebrity Golf Tournament is part of the foundation’s 10th anniversary commemoration and seeks to raise funds for underprivileged children and communities in the region.
Marc Anthony and Henry Cárdenas, who seek to provide safe and healthy living spaces for children in Latin America, will host the event, which includes “a luxurious silent auction.”
Marc Anthony said he hopes “to continue helping the millions of children who still need it.”
The Maestro Cares Foundation seeks to create safe and healthy environments for children to live, learn and have fun while working on their development and academic needs.
Since announcing and opening its first home for orphaned children in the Dominican Republic in 2014, the foundation has opened youth homes, community centers, schools, and launched an educational program in Lima and Cusco, Peru. (Source: EFE)
