ALGHERO. A sports park in Maria Pia with a space dedicated not only to those who practice sports, but also to the disabled, the elderly, children and four-legged friends. The idea launched months ago by the president of the provincial Pgs, Giorgio Persico, was collected by sports clubs, associations and commercial activities and is taking shape. “We have reached an important step – highlights Persico – the constitution of the new Aps (Association for social promotion) is a reality and will be made official on March 15”.
The project, developed by the newly formed association, provides for a profound restyling of Maria Pia’s sports area with the possibility, not only of hosting new disciplines, but also of creating spaces for many cultural initiatives, such as outdoor exhibitions, small musical concerts. , cinema and much more. In the draft project that will then be discussed with the municipal administration, in addition to the redevelopment of existing facilities where it is possible to practice sports such as: football, rugby, athletics, tennis, baseball, softball, padel, swimming, basketball, biking and running, there will be interventions for canoeing and kayaking, mountain biking, cross-country running, archery. Then the construction of a modern sports hall for indoor disciplines. According to the project conceived by Giorgio Persico, the building could be built on the land in front of the football field currently managed by the Alghero football school.
The entire area, again according to the project, must be covered by a wi-fi line, equipped with LED lighting powered by photovoltaic panels, all the connecting streets between the different structures must have a delimited cycle path, asphalted with an ecological mantle and phosphorescent, entry must be allowed only to electric or hybrid vehicles. The car parks outside the area with Car and Bike Sharing points, well-kept greenery as well as the currently non-existent signage, separate waste collection baskets, dedicated internet application for reservations and information on all existing events and structures. The Club House is also planned, which could be housed in the building where the horse stables were once housed and for which there is also a recovery project of the 2C Costruzioni of the surveyor Isio Camboni. The idea for the sports area by Maria Pia seems to have received various acclaim. Clearly there will be a whole series of steps to overcome, such as some authorizations where the Superintendency could set “stakes”, and, above all, find funding.
