The team from Mar del Plata fell 1-0 at home for the first date of the Metropolitan Tournament “B” of Men’s Hockey. The match, which was played at “La Josefa”, is the kickoff to a long season of activity.
Returning to play after two years was not easy, but with a lot of heart and play, MDQ 06 Hockey Club competed in its first game of the season in the Metropolitan “B” Men’s Hockey Tournament.
Lucas Piersanti’s team lost 1-0 to Quilmes High School (QHS) in a very intense game that will help them get used to the high level of demand. The two gave a lot of dynamics to the game from the first minute.
The first to get a key opportunity was the visit because he left one of his players hand in hand with the goalkeeper, but Lucas Tornini narrowed it down in time to prevent him from shooting on goal. Although for much of the match the game was played away from the goals, the green and yellow cards gave nuances to the development of the match because the two teams had to defend themselves with one less on several occasions.
Although the homeowner added some approaches, the clearest was in the third quarter. A flick by Lautaro Rodríguez to the right found the ball from Carlos Domecq who lowered it and threw a strong cross. The ball passed in front of the goal but Nicolás Capurro and Julián Rodríguez could not push it. They then got the first short and goalkeeper Gonzalo Márquez took the shot off Santiago Whelan.
The set plays seemed the most dangerous of the match and with 7 minutes remaining, QHS found precision. A very good execution by Juan Cruz Melgarejo, up front, was the only difference of the afternoon. The local was forced to look for the tie and had two penalty corners that the visiting goalkeeper took very well, one half height and one below. With the team playing in attack, the visitors had a couple of chances to seal the result but they did not have precision.
With an interesting presentation after so much time of inactivity in this type of competition, MDQ 06 Hockey Club is back and will gradually begin to pick up the rhythm of the game. Next Sunday they will have to visit another demanding rival like Alemanes de Quilmes.

LONG DAY IN “LA JOSEFA”
MDQ 06 Hockey Club was once again able to enjoy a full day for all its categories within the “B” Metropolitan Tournament. In the Intermediate category, he seemed to have controlled the result in his favor by the slightest difference after David Ardusso’s conversion. However, in just a few minutes, goals from Tomás Deya and Juan Ignacio Mendizabal gave the Quilmeños a 2-1 victory.
In another high-level match with high heart rate, the Fifth Division fell 1-0 with the only goal scored by Blas Domínguez.
The Sixth Division, for its part, was able to add the victory in the first presentation by 2 to 1 thanks to the goals of Tomás Cabrero and Sebastián Ojeda, while the discount was scored by Branco Domínguez.
Finally, the Seventh suffered a 3-1 loss to their QHS peers. The only local goal was scored by Vicente Loustau and Ramiro Soldato, Rodolfo Melgarejo and Juan Ignacio Subarroca converted for the visitors.
