No deaths were reported in the violent football riots in Mexican football last weekend, according to the attorney general of the district where the incidents took place. In the first reports, however, there were several deaths.
During the match between Queretaro and Atlas, supporters got into a fight. The clashes were in full swing, the images on social media were shocking.
At least 17 people were initially said to have been killed, but that is denied by Attorney General Mauricio Kuri.
On Twitter, Kuri denies that there have been any fatalities. He said 14 people were still in hospital, 2 of them with serious injuries.
