Cn the weekend, around twenty players from SOM Badminton were out for the Saint-Affrique tournament.
Saturday March 5 singles and mixed doubles were played and several Millavois were involved.
In singles, Axel and Tom, despite good matches, do not rank at the top of their series. As for Fred, while he was winning his matches, he got injured and had to give up the competition. For him, the season is, alas, over since he has to have surgery.
In mixed doubles, Jean-Luc and Lucie (from Rodez), Jérôme and Julia (from Marvejols), Clémentine and Richard (from Mende) and Sébastien and Caroline do not come out of their respective pools.
A very special congratulations to Christophe and Angélique who, for a first mixed participation, finished 2nd in the tournament in their category!
Sunday March 6, men’s doubles and women’s doubles were played. Among the men, several pairs were involved.
Noël and Tom, Jean-Luc and Baptiste, Sébastien and Lionel, Jules and Axel and Léonard and Yannick did not come out of pools despite tight matches, often in 3 sets.
Jérôme and Paul lose in the quarter-final against players from the Monastery in a very tight match. Erwann and Francis lose in the semi-finals in three sets. Congratulations to them for reaching the semi-finals for this first tournament!
On the girls side, several pairs were also there. Caroline, who played with Emilia de Saint-Affrique in a single pool, unfortunately does not win a match with her partner.
Elodie and Pauline and Sigrid and Clémentine who played in series 3 found themselves in the final against each other. The 100% Millavoise final was contested. It is Elodie and Pauline who win the victory, congratulations to them!
Congratulations to all the players who participated in the tournament of our Saint-African neighbors.
See you very quickly on the courts, on March 20, for the departmental championships and on April 16 and 17 for the SOM Badminton tournament at Puits-de-Calès.
