Mito Pereira returns to the circuit at the Valero Texas Open, the last chance to enter the Augusta Masters

After his 27th place at the Valspar Championship, Mito Pereira returns to filming after a week off. Starting this Thursday, the national golfer will play the Valero Texas Open, a tournament that brings together important figures from the PGA, such as Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, current champion Jordan Spieth and Mexican Abraham Ancer, among others. The contest celebrates its 100 years in this edition.

From 2:47 p.m., Chilean time, the number 97 in the world will jump to TPC San Antonio. He will do it from the 10th hole and will be accompanied by the American Kevin Streelman and the British Aaron Rai. While on Friday, the start with the same players will be from flag number one, at 7:52.

In its first full season, The Pirque native just surpassed his first million dollars in earnings and is currently ranked 39th in the FedEx Cup, which is the ranking that measures the performance of the season.

The tournament in San Antonio also offers the last invitation to the Augusta Masters to the winner who does not have enough ranking to enter, a situation that could benefit Mito. In addition, previous bets put Eduardo Miquel’s pupil as one of the 20 candidates to win the tournament.

With a draw of 144 players, the contest awards 500 points for FedEx and distributes US$ 7.9 million in prizes. Of these, US$ 1,386,000 will go to the winner.
