On Sunday morning, reports announced that the Los Angeles Dodgers reached an agreement with Dominican infielder Hanser Alberto for the 2022 Major League Baseball Season (MLB). Although the amount for which they would have agreed is unknown, the club has an option for 2023.

The Dodgers’ interest in signing Alberto to their team came after losing the chance to sign Josh Harrison, who agreed with Chicago White Sox Saturday afternoon for one year and $5.5 million.
Hanser Alberto signed his first contract with a Major League team with Texas Rangers en 2009 as an international free agent. Six years later he made his Major League debut. Since then, he has alternated between Triple-A and returning to the big team on several occasions; in 2018 Texas released him and a year later landed in Baltimore Orioles while in 2021 signed with Kansas City Royals.
‘El Potro’ had one of his best seasons in the Dominican Republic winter ball (LIDOM) helping the Gigantes del Cibao win the championship. He was a finalist in the MVP voting because he led the league in batting average (.329), hits (50) and runs scored (28).
Though his stats put him as strong candidate to win the second distinction of his career as Most Valuable Playerthe prize went to the pitcher Cesar Valdezfrom Tigres del Licey, who also won the Pitching Triple Crown and the Pitcher of the Year Award.
With 29 years of age, Alberto averages .276 in the Major Leagues, with a total of 322 hits17 homers, 106 RBI and 136 runs scored, so he comes to the Dodgers with the credentials required to make himself available to manager Dave Roberts. Seventh Entry.
