MLB on Apple TV +, but not exclusive

As reported by the New York PostAlong with Apple TV +, NBC is also in talks to stream Major League Baseball games on its streaming service, Peacock.

Apple is dealing with the MLB to bring live streams of the games of the most important baseball league in the United States to Apple TV + users. Barring surprises, the agreement will be operational from the end of the year, but without exclusivity. The MLB, in fact, is negotiating also with other players and could accept NBC’s offer.

Apple and NBC are expected to shell out between $ 100 and $ 150 million to acquire the non-exclusive rights to the championship, but the real problem is that there are currently no matches to show. The owners and players of the various MLB teams are in fact engaged in a long negotiation for new employment contracts and the agreement seems far from being reached.

Net of this news, Apple remains very interested in live streaming of sporting events, as evidenced by the recent interest in the NFL.
