Major League Baseball and the MLBPA have extended the administrative leave of Trevor Bauer from the Los Angeles Dodgers by one week.
The right-hander won’t be able to report to his club until March 20.
In connection with a joint major league and MLBPA policy on domestic violence and sexual assault, Bauer was placed on paid administrative leave on July 2 after a case emerged involving a Southern California woman. .
Major League Baseball and the Players Union have since agreed to several extensions.
Bauer did not pitch beyond June 29. He was 8-2 and 2.59 ERA in his first season with LA, having grown up in the area. He pocketed a salary of $28 million.
Last month, prosecutors decided not to press charges in the case, where he allegedly assaulted and sexually abused a San Diego woman. This version could not be validated beyond a reasonable doubt.
A Cy Young winner with Cincinnati in 2020, Bauer agreed to a three-year, $102 million pact with the Dodgers.
