“Mogo” / LSPA on Saturday in the extension game of “Optibet” Hockey League (OHL) celebrated the victory against last year’s Latvian champion Riga “Olimp” / “Venta 2002”. “Mogo” / LSPA beat “Olimp” / ”Venta 2002” at home with 2: 1 (0: 0, 1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 0).

52 seconds before the second break, Rihards Liģis scored the goal for the home team. Edijs Brahmanis equalized the result in the 50th minute. Richard Grīnbergs scored the winning goal after two minutes and 15 seconds of extra time. Gatis Gricinskis collected two assists.

The defender Tomass Zeile was recognized as the best player for the home team, and the goalkeeper Andrejs Bončs – Brujevičs was the guest. The transferred games and the regular championship will be played until March 15. The semi-finals of the OHL playoffs, which will run until four wins, will begin on March 18th. The fight for the OHL Championship Cup will start on April 3. The final will also have up to four victories.

The OHL play-off will feature the top four teams in the tournament. For the remaining three units, the season will be over. Last season the OHL Cup was won by Olimp / Venta 2002, but in the regular season the victory was celebrated by Zemgale / LLU. The first Latvian hockey championship took place 90 years ago.
