Morello Defends His Title in a Nail-Biting Final
Marco Morello, representing the National and Air Force teams, successfully defended his Italian championship title, repeating his 2021 victory. Facing off against fellow airman and Olympian michele Frangilli, the final was a tense affair filled with dramatic moments. Morello had the prospect to secure the win in the fifth set but faltered, allowing Frangilli to stay in contention. Ultimately, Frangilli’s 7 in the final set opened the door for Morello, who capitalized on the opportunity to clinch the championship with a score of 6-5 (10-7). Yuri Belli of Archers Aquila Bianchi secured the bronze medal, defeating Massimiliano Mandia of Fiamme Azzurre 6-4.
Andreoli Claims Her Third National Title
Tatiana Andreoli, a member of the Fiamme Oro team, dominated the women’s competition, capturing her third Italian championship title. Her previous victories came in 2018 and 2020. The final pitted Andreoli against Vanessa Landi, a veteran archer from the Aeronautica Militare and silver medalist at the Lasko European Championships. andreoli delivered a commanding performance, dropping only one set to Landi and securing the gold medal with a decisive 7-3 victory. Roberto Di Francesco of Arcieri abruzzesi earned the bronze medal,triumphing over tanya Giaccheri of the Air Force with a score of 7-1.
Arco Club Riccione Makes History in Men’s Team Event
Arco Club Riccione etched their name in the history books by claiming their first-ever italian men’s team championship. The trio of De Petra, Giacchi, and Gregori proved too strong for their opponents, Archers Decumanus Maximus (Guerra, Lo Porto, Michieletto), securing a 5-3 victory. The bronze medal whent to the Voghera archers (Nespoli, Paoletta, Ralli), who blanked the reigning champions, Iuvenilia (Melotto, Morello, Piano), 6-0.Torrevecchia Archers Extend Their Reign
In the women’s team event, the Torrevecchia Archers (Mandia, Rebagliati, D’Errico) continued their dominance, securing their fourth consecutive national title. In a thrilling final against the Iuvenilia Archers (Degani, Andreoli, Aloisi), the Torrevecchia team emerged victorious in a shoot-off, edging out their opponents 5-4 (28-27). The Castenaso Archery Team (Di Pasquale, Franceschelli, passarella) claimed the bronze medal after defeating the Archers Città di Pescia (Centini, Lionetti, Platania) 5-1.

Sara Toninelli: Thank you for having me. It was truly exciting to see the passion and skill on display. The men’s final was a nail-biter, with Marco Morello proving his mettle once again. His composure under pressure was remarkable, especially after that missed chance in the fifth set. and Tatiana Andreoli,three-time champion! Her dominance in the women’s competition was simply awe-inspiring.
Moderator: Morello’s win seems even more significant given the challenge from Michele Frangilli, another exceptional archer. Did you foresee such a tight contest?
Sara Toninelli: Absolutely. Frangilli has been consistently performing at a high level, both nationally and internationally. He’s a fierce competitor, and I believe he’s on the cusp of clinching that championship title. It’s becoming quite a rivalry,reminiscent of some of the classic battles we’ve seen in archery history.
Moderator: And what about the women’s final? Andreoli’s victory seemed almost certain.
Sara Toninelli: She was in phenomenal form. Vanessa Landi put up a good fight, but Andreoli’s consistency was simply unmatched. I think her experience, coupled with her serene focus, gives her an edge in these crucial matches.
Moderator: Don’t you think this dominance could potentially discourage younger archers from stepping up?
Sara Toninelli: That’s a valid concern. When you have such a strong figure like andreoli dominating the field, it can be daunting for up-and-coming archers. However, I firmly believe Andreoli is also a fantastic role model.Her dedication and sportsmanship inspire a new generation.
Moderator: Let’s shift gears to the team events. Arco Club Riccione’s victory in the men’s final was historic, wasn’t it?
Sara Toninelli: Absolutely! To witness a relatively new team ascend to the top is truly inspiring. It shows the depth of talent we have within Italian archery. Notably, the women’s team event saw Torrevecchia Archers extend their remarkable winning streak. They seem unstoppable.
Moderator: Do you think this dominance will continue, or will we see new contenders emerge?
Sara Toninelli: It’s certainly a challenge for other teams to break Torrevecchia’s streak. They have an remarkable balance of experience and youth,making them a formidable force. Though, I believe the recent performances from teams like Iuvenilia and Castenaso Archery Team demonstrate that the competition is getting fiercer.
