A Veteran’s Wish: David Moss Eyes Another Season with Brescia
David Moss, the seasoned basketball veteran, is approaching his 39th birthday on September 9th. As his contract nears its end, he has made his desire clear: he wants to continue his journey with Brescia Basketball.
Speaking on the “Basket Time” program aired on Teletutto, Moss expressed his strong preference to remain with the team. Though, he acknowledged that the final decision rests with coach magro, General Manager De Benedetto, and Mauro Ferrari.
With the prospect of competing on two fronts in the upcoming 2022-2023 season, various scenarios are possible. Moss, a versatile player capable of filling multiple roles, from small forward to point guard and even tactical four, is undoubtedly a valuable asset.
A Multifaceted Role: Player, Mentor, and More?
Could Moss become the seventh foreign player on an expanded roster? Could he transition into a coaching role? All possibilities remain open.
“I want to keep playing,” Moss stated emphatically.”This team and this project have revitalized me. We’re building something special. I no Magro, Emanuele Di Paolantonio, Isaac Jenkis well. The team is united. I push my teammates every day in training. Facing petrucelli, Della Valle, or Gabriel during the week is a constant challenge.”
But there’s more to Moss’s desire to stay than just basketball. ”Being close to my son is crucial to me,” he added. “He’s my life, and these past three years have shown me the importance of family.”
Gearing Up for Brindisi: A Tough Test Awaits
Meanwhile, brescia is preparing for a challenging away game against Brindisi on Sunday at 6 pm. The team has welcomed back Della Valle and Eboua from their national team commitments.”It will be a challenging match,” Moss commented. “We’re facing a different Happy Casa team compared to the one we defeated earlier. With Zanelli and Alessandro Gentile, they pose a significant threat. Gentile and Perkins are perilous players who can easily create scoring opportunities. But we’ll be ready.”
Brescia can count on a Della Valle in exceptional form, further boosted by his recent performance as captain and leader for the Italian national team against Iceland.
Moss also shared his thoughts on the Euroleague’s decision to ban Russian clubs, which has resulted in players like Daniel Hackett leaving CSKA Moscow to join Virtus Bologna.
“I feel sorry for the players who are affected,” Moss remarked. “I’m not sure if I agree with the decision, but I was impressed by its decisiveness.”
