former World No. 1 Andy Murray has been granted a wildcard entry into the BNP paribas Open, marking his return to the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells. The tournament, scheduled from March 10-20, will be Murray’s first opportunity to build on his recent climb back into the ATP Top 100, achieved on February 7th.

This year’s BNP Paribas Open holds particular meaning for the 34-year-old Scotsman. It represents the only hard-court Masters 1000 title that has eluded him throughout his illustrious career. With a 27-13 record at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Murray has consistently performed well in the Californian desert.

His best result came in 2009 when he reached the final,ultimately falling to Rafael Nadal. Murray also made semi-final appearances in 2007 and 2015, both times losing to Novak Djokovic.

murray’s return to Indian Wells last year, after a four-year absence due to a persistent hip injury, showcased his resilience and determination.
