Celebrating two Decades of Tennis: Mutua Madrid Open Launches Charity Auction
The Mutua Madrid Open, a premier tennis tournament celebrating its 20th anniversary, is gearing up for an exciting event at the Caja Mágica from April 26th to May 8th. To mark this milestone, the tournament has announced a unique charity auction, offering fans a chance to own pieces of tennis history while supporting a worthy cause.
This extraordinary auction, curated in partnership with Durán Arte y Subastas, will feature a remarkable collection of items donated by tennis legends from both the ATP and WTA circuits. Additional valuable pieces will be unveiled closer to the auction date.
Bidding will commence online on April 1st, culminating in a live event on April 20th at Durán Arte y Subastas. From April 1st onwards, all auction items will be on display at the venue, allowing enthusiasts to admire these treasures up close.
All proceeds from the auction will benefit the DORoTEA Program,a vital initiative within the Functional Therapies Unit of the Niño Jesús University Children’s Hospital. This program focuses on identifying children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and intellectual disabilities who struggle with eating disorders. By providing families and caregivers with effective strategies, the DORoTEA Program aims to improve the introduction of solid foods, ultimately enhancing eating habits and overall quality of life for these children.
in addition to the auction, the Mutua Madrid Open and Durán Exquse have collaborated to create a commemorative 20th-anniversary bracelet. Available for purchase starting April 1st, the bracelet can be found at the Durán jewellery store, their website, and both the physical and online stores of the tournament. The profits from bracelet sales will be added to the funds raised through the auction, further amplifying the impact on the DORoTEA Program.
