NBA: The Jazz donate 32,000 hotel nights for Ukrainian refugees

UUkraine and its citizens are receiving help from many parts of the planet and the NBA, which is usually sensitive to what is happening in the world, is also beginning to collaborate. The first have been the Jazz, which through Airbnb have donated 32,200 nights of accommodation for Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country after the invasion of the Russian army.

“Millions of people have been forced to leave their entire lives behind in Ukraine. Airbnb is connecting families in the cities where refugees in need are flocking, creating safe places now that so many communities are being torn apart,” explains franchise owner, Ryan Smith.

Since the invasion of Ukraine began, the NBA has seen various acts of support for the country or rejection of the invaders. The League suspended all commercial activities in Russia last week, including broadcast and digital content distribution, and Pelicans players, in a proposal led by Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas, wore yellow socks in one of their games.

In addition, the two Ukrainian NBA players, Kings center Alex Len and Raptors shooting guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, issued a joint statement last month calling for unity and condemning the war.
