At the competition level, he is in the weight category of +90 kg which does not present many opponents. Mathieu therefore moved to competitions outside our region to seek experience to prepare for the regional championship in which he finished 3e and which allows him to qualify for the French championship on April 3.

“It is the first time that he has reached this level, and it is also a first in the recent history of the club (this is of course without counting the place of vice champion of France in 2019 of Marine Perdoux in judo adapted).

Of course, we hope that he can go as far as possible. During his trip he will be accompanied by his family and Aurélie Launay, his teacher, will join him to give him advice during this competition. »
