New Football Simulator, Football Player Arrives In 2023

For football lovers who want new games to live the emotions of being on the field, good news: a new football simulator, called Football Player, will arrive in 2023. For which platforms? We do not know! What will the value be? We do not know! Will it have official teams and real players from licensed teams? We don’t know either! For now, the certainty is that it will be released in 2023 and will be made in the Unity engine.

The announcement was made through a publication in the Twitter and the official pages on Discord and Instagram were newly created, with little information. Most of them are in a post about Questions and answers made on Twitter and give an idea of what we can expect.

Game will be focused on decisions and not an arcade

Football Player arrives in 2023, but what else do we know about him?

For starters, the game is expected to be released for all platforms, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Mac. Considering that it would have been almost two years since the launch of the new generation, it seems unlikely that the game comes to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. However, it is not ruled out yet.

The price will be around US$15 or US$30, which indicates that it will be a relatively cheap game by today’s standards (a large release or triple AAA game usually costs around US$60 or US$70).

We also already know that the game will not be an arcade-style game like Konami’s eFootball or EA’s various FIFAs. It will be a more management and decision-making game, allowing the player to make their lineup and other choices, but without actively “putting their feet on the field”. According to the developer’s posts, it is also understood that it will not be possible to review strategies in real time and that not everything will be under the control of the coach (just like in a real game, players also make their decisions and take advantage of opportunities, even if this deviates from what was established by the coach before the match).

As for the official teams, we also don’t know yet if they will be in the game, but considering how bureaucratic and expensive the process is, it’s very likely that the game won’t invest in it. Several football teams seek to decentralize themselves from FIFA and negotiate their values individually, making it complicated and expensive for game companies to maintain contracts with all clubs and athletes. Even EA has recently been considering abandoning the FIFA brand and call their games just EA Sports next year.

A: No, the game will not be free. However, it won’t be expensive the first year, $15-$20.
Q: What devices is the game coming to?
A: The game is currently only coming to PCs and Macbooks. While we are closely reviewing other devices, we may update them in the future.
Q: Is “Football Player” a simulation or an arcade game?
A: Football player is a simulation game. We are trying to make our game as realistic as possible (not in terms of graphics) because we think realism is the most important thing about football games.
Q: Will we play or will the games be simulated?
A: The games will not be played completely, but you will get scenarios when you have a highlight. Thus, you will have the chance to kick, pass, cross, defend, score a set piece, etc. The rest of the game will be a commentary.
Q: How many chances per game are we getting?
A: As we said, we are trying to make the game as realistic as possible, so that the number of chances is different depending on the opponent. Better opposition = less chances per game, worse opposition = more chances per game.
