The biggest adjustment in our first class B: the double round trip is disappearing. Because 12 teams will participate, the regular competition has 22 match days.
Those 12 teams will, as already announced, consist of 8 professional clubs and 4 promise teams. Those U23 teams are selected by taking the top four after the current season in the Belgian U23 competition.
After the regular season, the teams will be divided into two groups of 6. The top 6 play promotion play-offs and the other teams play relegation play-offs. The points are not halved but are kept.
Whoever is at the top of the promotion play-offs after ten match days is crowned champion in 1B and promotes directly to the Jupiler Pro League. The last in the relegation playoffs drops to the first national.
