On February 17, 2022, the annual general meeting the judo section took place, which should point the way after Fabian Weissbach’s resignation as head of department. The meeting had to be held at short notice online be organized after the Brauhaus Lasser unfortunately canceled us due to Corona. Nevertheless, 17 members logged in to find out about the status of the department.
Since Fabian Weissbach, as mentioned, unexpectedly withdrew from the department management last year, the current business in the last few months up to the annual general meeting was managed temporarily by Alexander Müller (treasurer) and Axel Heizmann (trainer), who also together all those present at the meeting welcomed.
At the beginning there was a short introduction on how to use various functions in the online meeting in order to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible. With the help of a Powerpoint presentation, the members were then guided through the individual items on the agenda.
This year there were several honors and farewells among the judokas. Fabian Weissbach was dismissed as head of department. As long-time trainers became Bernhard Scheuble (adult), Michael Kircher, Bettina Nirenberg as Susanne Dresen (all youth) farewell. The main club granted Ingrid Lafille and Daniel Lafille a special and well-deserved honor by making both of them honorary members of the RWL. Ingrid was also included in the association’s council of elders. Many thanks and congratulations to everyone!
the reports were presented by the relevant and present sports comrades themselves. Only the reports of department heads (Fabian Weissbach) and the youth coach U12 (Michael Kircher) were read out in their absence. Our cashier Alexander Müller confirmed that the members had a department fund in good condition. From all trainers it was pointed out how difficult the training was during the corona pandemic in 2021 and there was a long interruption. For the U10/U12, online training was offered as an alternative in the first half of the year, but the little ones still lacked a direct comparison in practice fights (Randori). After a long break, the U15 and U18 youths had their first training session after the summer holidays. It was the same with the adults. Unfortunately, due to the low number of participants and the comparatively high level of hygiene required (mat disinfection), one or the other training session was canceled at short notice. In his report, Axel Heizmann emphasized that importance and urgency to find new coachesto close the current gaps as quickly as possible. Several talks have already been held, but so far without any notable success.
Following the reports, the department head was discharged from the meeting.
In the subsequent elections, an almost complete department board had to be re-appointed. Apart from the function of treasurer, all other offices were vacant. A difficult search for possible candidates began as early as October. Happily explained himself Axel Heizmann ready to take up the office of 1. Head of Department to take over and became elected unanimously by the assembly. Axel has been in the department since 2008, was 2nd department head for two years and has been training the youth U15/U18 since 2015. He has the 5th DAN and is also a licensed Kyu and Dan examiner and judge with the highest national license.
As new assessors are additional to him Bettina Nirenberg and Sabine Melzer to the side, both of whom were also unanimously elected.
the search for one Deputy Head of Department as secretary goes furtherbecause nobody could be found for these functions during the meeting.
After there were no motions to discuss, Axel Heizmann closed the meeting, not without once again appealing for volunteers and help in the department.
Congratulations to the new department committee and good luck for the tasks ahead.
