At least that’s what the ESPN network said on Monday morning. The 25-year-old was expected to become an unrestricted free agent soon and is expected to earn approximately $16.5 million for the upcoming season.

Brown Jr. is the first NFL player to receive the franchise player tag this year. Teams have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to choose this option.

Brown was a third-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. Playing on the right with that team, he was traded to the Chiefs last year at his request to play on the left offensive line. The Ravens earned four draft selections in that trade.
