NFL: Bobby Wagner agrees with the Rams on a 5-year contract

The Los Angeles Rams have hit the free agent market with the signing of linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Ian Rapopot de NFL Network said the deal ties the 31-year-old to the most recent Super Bowl champions for the next five seasons. Wagner is expected to get $50 million, but the deal could be worth a total of $65 million with possible bonuses.

On March 8, the linebacker was released by the Seattle Seahawks, the same day his former teammate Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos.

Wagner has stood out over the years as a general on defense for the Seahawks. He had 1,298 total tackles, 23.5 quarterback sacks and 11 interceptions in 10 seasons with Seattle.
