Green Bay Packers star receiver Davante Adams has notified the team that he will not be playing under the franchise player tag next season, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.
The Packers affixed the franchise player tag to Adams after offering a contract extension to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who became the highest-paid player in NFL history.
One of Rodgers’ favorite targets, Adams is trying to secure a long-term contract extension.
Rapoport said Monday that the two camps are far from getting along and that their relationship is not at its best.
