New York Giants will likely try to woo quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, reports ESPN Wednesday.
The addition of Trubisky would aim to give competition to Daniel Jones, who still has the confidence of the team despite three difficult seasons.
With the Giants, Trubisky would reunite with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. The three men rubbed shoulders in Buffalo, where the quarterback spent the last season after four campaigns with the Chicago Bears.
The Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers will also be eyeing Trubisky and will especially have a starting job to offer him, unlike the Giants, where he should fight Jones.
The Giants are desperately looking for a backup quarterback following the Mike Glennon debacle last season. In Jones’ absence with a neck injury, Glennon and Jake Fromm helped the Giants average just 9.3 points per game.
