Trubisky and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms on a two-year contract that will give Trubisky the opportunity to take on the team’s starting quarterback position following Roethlisberger’s retirement in January. .
The deal confirmed by a source at The Associated Press was first reported by NFL Network.
Trubisky, 27, joins the Steelers after spending the past season supporting Josh Allen at Buffalo. The second overall pick in the 2017 draft previously spent four seasons with the Chicago Bears, going 29-21 as a starter while passing for 10,652 yards with 64 touchdowns to 38 interceptions.
The move is one of the first in what will likely be a busy free agent market for the Steelers, who are looking to fill holes in multiple positions after a 9-7-1 season that ended in a crushing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs.
