Could More Sports Be Coming to Nintendo Switch Sports?
Nintendo’s “Nintendo Switch Sports,” the highly anticipated successor to the Wii Sports series, is set to launch on April 29, 2022. While the game will feature six sports at launch – tennis, bowling, sword fighting, soccer, badminton, and volleyball – rumors are swirling about potential future additions.
Adding fuel to the speculation is the finding of data within the software of a recent “Nintendo Switch Sports” online experience event. This data hints at the possibility of dodgeball and basketball joining the lineup.Though, the absence of any visual assets for these sports suggests they might have been scrapped during progress.
It’s worth noting that “Nintendo Switch Sports” already boasts more sports than its predecessors, “Wii Sports” and “Wii Sports Club.” However, it still falls short of the offerings in “Wii sports Resort.” This, coupled with the presence of unused facilities within the game’s “Sports Facilities” image, suggests that Nintendo may have plans to expand the game’s content beyond just dodgeball and basketball. The addition of golf via a free update in Fall 2022 further supports this theory.
While nothing is confirmed, the evidence points towards a future were “Nintendo Switch Sports” could become even more expansive, offering players a wider variety of sporting experiences.Pre-order or purchase “Nintendo Switch Sports” here:
