Now it’s time for the cross to come out

For months, the Bouzas Rapid came out all expensive. The matches to tie, he won and the ones to lose, he tied them. And, of course, the ones to win, he took them with supine clarity. 17 consecutive days without losing in a practical manual of competitiveness. But in football, things change from one moment to another. The wind turns suddenly and the coin flips to come out tails. He happened to David de Dios’s pupils last Tuesday in Ponteareas and it happened again yesterday against Estradense. As in Pardellas, the aurinegro team fell in added time, this time with a goal from Borja Míguez in the 92nd minute.

All in a clash in which, without having too many occasions, there were enough for the fast team to scratch something more quantitatively. A goal disallowed by Álex Rey, a couple of attempts by Adrián Rodríguez and a penalty not signaled -and much protested by the locals- a few bars from the end of the match.

But football is a state of mind. A question of dynamics. And while Estradense goes through one of three games without losing, it is now up to the Rapido to endure the downpour of two consecutive defeats. And a spark on the run from Borja Míguez ended in the goal of the away victory in the 92nd minute. This time, it was a cross.
