Hertha BSC presented the successor to the dismissed coach Tayfun Korkut on Sunday evening and surprised with Felix Magath.

Felix Magath is the new coach of Hertha BSC. The Bundesliga club officially announced this on Sunday evening.

The 68-year-old is the successor to Tayfun Korkut, who was released on Sunday, and the third Hertha coach in the current season, which Pal Dardai started on the bench.

Magath last coached the Bundesliga almost ten years ago

Magath last coached in the Bundesliga in October 2012 when he was employed by VfL Wolfsburg. This was followed by positions at Fulham and the Chinese first division club SD Luneng before he became sports director at Admira Wacker and the Würzburger Kickers.

As a coach, Magath became German champion twice with Bayern (2005 and 2006) and sensationally in 2009 with VfL Wolfsburg.
