The Homeland Judoafter the excellent results at the Regional Championships, also proves to be a protagonist with the Olympic Weightliftinga discipline now also known by the English name of Weight Lifting.

Already a few years ago an attempt was made to initiate and disseminate a discipline which, for various reasons, had not taken root, but Luca Genna (pictured above) he reconfirmed his presence in the bustese company and the results were certainly not lacking. Saturday 26 Marchin fact, the athlete was the absolute protagonist of the Lecco Regional Championships dominating the category 55kg with a total of 122kg. Genna, while drastically dropping in weight to fall into the category, managed to complete his lifts thanks to the technical skills deriving from the application of the excellent Pro Patria staff: from the general coordinator of the CrossTraining room activities Lorenzo Re Fraschini to the coaches (and former champions of the discipline) Claudio Palumbo e Saula Naschimbenthe latter attentive to the growth of the youth sector.

Genna certainly stole the limelight, but also Luca Bizzarri (category 71kg) he certainly did not disfigure by conquering the seventh place (out of fifteen athletes) managing to re-propose maximum lifts with an improved technical profile, writing the personal record of 175kg in total. The Weight Lifting technical team and the management of Pro Patria Judo (Weightlifting and Cross-Training section) can only be satisfied by the Lecco expedition and they are eager to return to the platform to achieve new goals, always remembering Maestro Piero Masera, “father” of weightlifting in Busto Arsizio.
