THE COUNTRY I Manizales
The classic is the match in which there are more obligations than usual. The fan, charged with adrenaline, unloads twice the responsibilities on players and coaches on duty.
And tonight will be no exception. Once Caldas receives Deportivo Pereira in the dispute of the tenth day of the first phase of the BetPlay League, called the date of the classics.
The last confrontation was to forget by the sides of Once Caldas. He lost it 3-0 at the Hernán Ramírez Villegas stadium. It was one of Diego Corredor’s first games as coach.
Today they meet again in Palogrande and with different presents. The local is fifth in the table with 15 units and the visitor occupies the 14th box with 10.
The players know the importance. Juan David Rodríguez has played two games: “It’s a special game for everyone, for the fans, they play their game. We, like in all games, go in search of the three points and we want to make our home respected”.
Ménder García, one of the team’s top scorers (sum 4), also values the game: “We know what the classic means, I feel good. We are ready to return to winning ways”.
Manizaleño defender Jorge Cardona will experience his first Clásico: “It’s a different game; there’s a lot of responsibility and rivalry. It’s a dream to be in my first Clásico.”
