The Giants of Cuyo managed to celebrate for the first time in the Federal League, by beating a Banco Rioja 76-71 that still could not win. Rodríguez Llarena scored 19 at home and Adría Beltrán scored 28 on the visit.
Even without the rhythm of other starts, the cast of San Juan had a good performance throughout the match, which improved as the minutes passed. Banco Rioja had its share of prominence, but could not capture the work it had in some passages of the game.
The first quarter had a lot of action, although little conversion in the hoops. The San Juan Básquet Revolution was not fine, and could not score all the good attacks that it generated. Rioja had chances and opened history in his favor. At one point, Cabañas changed the entire formation and managed to have a small light advantage, although it did not last long. Rioja turned brown and in the end, once again, San Juan went three up, but the visitors managed to score in the last of the first half. Tie to go to rest.
In the local there was an important presence of Hugo Castro (17), Rodríguez (19) and Lucero (18). Romero, despite his five units, also had a great match, along with the work of Facundo Bustos, who made eight points, but that left the skin in each defense that touched him.
On the Banco Rioja side, the work done by Adriana Beltrán with 28, Santiago Contreras with 16 and Diego Torres with eight is noteworthy. José Montoya did his thing in the last quarter, but the Riojan cast could not close some plays and at times lost the compass of the game.
Revolution San Juan Básquet had what was just and necessary to win the game. On the one hand, clarity to define the plays, even when they started without a good aim. They also had peace of mind to manage the actions when, in the end, it seemed that it was diluted. With these two condiments it was enough to win. The game this time translated points in the rival rim and that led to shouting victory at home, for the first time in this Federal League, by 76-71.
