On the 9th day of the selected high school baseball tournament, four quarter-final games were held at Koshien Stadium, and Omi (Shiga), Osaka Toin, Urawa Gakuin (Saitama) Kokugakuin Kugayama (Tokyo) advanced to the semi-finals.

Omi defeated Konko Osaka 6-1. Spring is the first four in Shiga, and the best four for two consecutive seasons following last summer. Yamada took 10 strikeouts and completed a complete game. This is the first time in history that the top four alternative schools have participated.

Urawa Gakuin beat Kyushu International University High School (Fukuoka) 6-3, and is the 4th strongest in 7 years.

Kokugakuin Kugayama defeated Hoshiryo (Ishikawa) 4-2 in a come-from-behind victory, making it the first best four in the spring and summer.
