Several NFL players agreed to contract extensions on Sunday, starting with Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Cousins has indeed accepted one more year for $35 million guaranteed, according to the NFL Network. He will remain with the team at least until the end of the 2023 season.
In 2021, Cousins took part in 16 games. He joined his teammates 66.3% of the time for 4,221 yards. His passes resulted in 33 touchdowns, while seven of them ended up in the hands of an opponent. He was invited to the Pro Bowl for a third time.
In Dallas, it was receiver Michael Gallup who extended. He signed a new five-year, $62.5 million contract with the Cowboys.
Gallup has two touchdowns in nine games in 2021. He caught 35 passes for 445 yards. He had his best campaign in 2019 with 1,107 yards and six majors.
Tight end Zach Ertz will spend three more years in Arizona. This new pact will allow him to receive $31.65 million. The Cardinals acquired him from the Philadelphia Eagles in October for Tay Gowan and a draft pick.
Invited to the Pro Bowl three times, he had 763 yards for five touchdowns in 2021.
CJ Moore (Detroit Lions), Isaiah McKenzie (Buffalo Bills) and Devin McCourty (New England Patriots) also got extensions, according to NFL Network.
These agreements come a few days before the opening of the free agent market on Wednesday.
