Sixth title on the DP World Tour for Pablo Larrazabal, 38. Fourteen years after his first success, at the French Open in 2008, the Spaniard added a sixth trophy to his cabinet by winning in South Africa. Long leader during this last lap, Larrazabal returned a final card of 67 (-5), a last bogey at 16 having put him at the level of the mark of the Englishman Jordan Smith and his compatriot Adri Arnaus.
In the playoff, Adri Arnaus was eliminated on the first hole after he missed a putt of less than two meters for birdie. On the second playoff hole, Jordan Smith hits a worse approach shot than Larrazabal. The Spaniard once again birdied and won, Smith not having returned his long putt. Larrazabal climbs to 9th place in the Race, Smith joins the top-5 (4th).
Three Blues in the top-15
Good week in South Africa for the French. Romain Langasque (-18), ninth, signs his first top-10 on the Tour for a year (5th in Kenya in March 2021). Matthieu Pavon signs a 64 (-8), his best career card on the Tour, and climbs 44 places to finish 15th in the tournament, at -16. Julien Brun finished in the same place, with a last card of 71 worse than the previous three (66, 68, 67). Antoine Rozner finished 28th with a final card of 69 (-3).
