Pachuca makes a double in state basketball

The quintets of the capital of Hidalgo lived a round week in the state championship of the Superior Youth category, organized by the Hidalgo Basketball Association (AHB), as a filter towards the 2022 Federated National Olympiad.

The qualifier was held in the Javier Rojo Gómez sports unit, in Tulancingo, where 13 teams, born in the years 2003-2004, in both branches, met.

In the men’s category, Tula, Tepeji del Río, Actopan, Tulancingo, Equipo Sierra, Ixmiquilpan, Pre-2022 and Club Pachuca participated, which advanced to the final after beating the hosts with a resounding 75-33.

In the match for the title, those from Bella Airosa ran into Charros Actopan, who left Pre-2022 in the semis, with a 50-49, succumbing with a 53-45 against the monarchs, who had in Erick Roldán, with 16 points, as well as Magdiel Vargas and Aragón López, with 13 points, his most decisive players.

For their part, the quintets of Panteras Pachuca, Zimapán, IMSS-Tepeji, Actopan and IMSS-Tulancingo participated in the women’s, which eliminated in a round-robin system (all against all) and the final classification was made, from the accumulated units, product of their triumphs and defeats.

The capitalinas had an undefeated step by winning by scores 30-14, 59-6, 40-22 and 73-9, in the aforementioned order of the participating teams.

In the end, David Quiterio Mendoza, president of the Mexican Basketball Federation (FMB) and the state association of the discipline, led the award ceremony, accompanied by authorities from the host municipality.
