The last week of the regular season was played for Tolmezzo Basketball: first the trip to Udine against the CUS, which was played for the top of the Promotion championship standings, then the home match against Olympia Rivignano, already certain of the last place.

The CUS is undoubtedly the most feared opponent as they are first in the standings but above all they are not yet sure of ending the championship in this way, so the motivations to win are on both sides. Tolmezzo, on the other hand, cannot afford to make mistakes: a victory is needed to undermine Laipacco’s fourth place. The game immediately showed itself to be very close with the Carnians who at first had to chase the Udinese. However, in the second quarter, the balance changes and Tolmezzo takes the lead in the race, also managing to keep Udine’s overtaking attempts at bay. In the final comes the decisive extension of the guests which mean 2 points and a bang at the leaders’ home.

We still need a victory in Tolmezzo and the obstacle is called Olympia Rivignano. The match against the last in the standings proves to be more complicated than expected: in particular it is Indri (30 points) and Serrao (18 with 5 triples to score) to give the hosts a hard time, but a great performance by Rupil ( 22) and Tosoni (20) puts things back in their place.
In conclusion, CUS Udine can breathe a sigh of relief after Cussignacco’s defeat at Majano and thus remains in first position. Tolmezzo succeeds in the enterprise and, thanks to the victories of recent weeks and the success of Tricesimo over Laipacco, he snatches the pass for fourth place: he will play the first round of the playoff against Laipacco, but having the home factor in his favor.
