Local Archers Hit the Mark at National Championships
The Arc Company is celebrating a string of successes at the recent French indoor archery championships. Emmanuel Dupuis, a rising star in the sport, secured a remarkable silver medal in the senior classic men’s category 2 (ages 39-59) at the Vittel competition. This achievement marks Dupuis’ first podium finish at this prestigious national level, a testament to his dedication and hard work.
Dupuis’ journey to the finals was a display of resilience and skill. After a solid qualifying round that placed him 11th, he navigated through the elimination rounds with composure, winning his matches in the 16th and round of 16. He continued his winning streak in the quarterfinals and semifinals, demonstrating his ability to perform under pressure. The final match proved to be a challenging encounter against former international champion Jocelyn De Grandis. Despite a strong start by De Grandis, Dupuis fought back valiantly, ultimately falling short with a score of 6-4.”This podium is a well-deserved reward for Emmanuel’s unwavering commitment to training,” remarked the Arc Company’s technical staff.
Adding to the Arc Company’s success, Philippe Pagnutti also competed in the same category, finishing a respectable 46th in the national rankings.
