Paris attributed his success to a meticulous analysis of his previous race. “Yesterday, I made a critical error in the initial launch,” he explained. “With such a long plane, even a small mistake can cost you valuable time, and sadly, it was unrecoverable.”

The five-time Olympic medalist, who announced his retirement earlier this season, received a warm send-off from his home crowd. Carlo: Thank you for having me. It’s always a pleasure to share my thoughts on the sport I love.

Carlo: It was a masterclass in redemption. Paris showed incredible resilience, analyzing his mistakes from the previous day and making the necesary adjustments. that initial launch is crucial in a downhill like Kvitfjell, and Paris nailed it this time.

Moderator: Paris mentioned a “critical error” in his launch on the first day. As a former champion,can you elaborate on how crucial those initial seconds are in a downhill race?

carlo: Absolutely! Downhill is all about momentum and precision from the start. One small error at the beginning, as paris put it, can cascade into a loss of precious milliseconds, and at this level, those fractions of

a second make all the difference. It takes immense mental strength to bounce back from a setback like that,so kudos to Paris for his focus and determination.

Moderator: Kilde, despite finishing close behind, maintains his overall lead in the downhill standings. Do you see him as the favorite for the season title, Carlo?

Carlo: Kilde is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. His consistency this season has been exceptional. However,the season is long and there are many strong contenders vying for the top spot.

Moderator: Can we talk about Kjetil Jansrud’s farewell? It was an emotional moment for everyone, witnessing the legend bid adieu to the Kvitfjell course. What are your memories of competing against Jansrud?

Carlo: Kjetil was a fierce competitor, always pushing the limits and setting a high bar for all of us. I learned a lot from watching him ski, his fearlessness and impeccable technique were truly inspiring. He will be missed on the slopes,that’s without a doubt.

Moderator: This race had its share of drama with crashes by Italian skiers Marsaglia and Casse. Thankfully, they escaped serious injury. What’s your take on the balance between pushing limits and safety in downhill skiing?

Carlo: Downhill is inherently a high-risk sport. The speeds we reach are incredible, and navigating those courses demands immense skill and courage. We are constantly pushing the boundaries,but safety

remains paramount. It’s reassuring to see advancements in safety equipment and protocols over the years.
