Patricio García sees the return of professional basketball to Mazatlan as motivating

MAZATLAN._ Patrick Garcia, sports manager of Venados Basketball and whoever was an iconic player of the burst sport in Mazatlan, spoke of the importance of the return of professional basketball to the port, with the start of the Pacific Coast Basketball Circuitnext April 2.

“After more than two years without being able to attend a professional game, it is very important for all of us who like and are passionate about basketball, but especially for the children and young people of Mazatlan who aspire at one point to be players who represent their municipality this circuit.

“Being able to see their players and idols is a special motivation for them and something that inspires them to want to be there in the future,” Garcia explained.

García has been part of the different teams that have represented Mazatlan in Cibacopa and was part of the first championship in 2008, later he was part of Venados Basketball as part of the board, living with it the evolution of the Buenos Aires team.

“Venados is a great organization with a long tradition in the port and now being able to bring all that to basketball is something very special because it is one of the sports with many followers in Mazatlan and that has been pushing hard for years,” he said.

“El Patrick” as many know him, recalled the great moments he has lived in Cibacopa, days after the activity returns.

“For me it was a pride, a blessing to be able to represent Mazatlan for so many years, I have so many memories, memories to be grateful for. Those years when we filled and made the German Eversalso when we won our Championship at the Lobo Dome against Friars of GuasaveIt was something that the fans deserved and for us a dream come true.

“But what makes it even more special for me is that I lived all those moments accompanied by my loved ones, my parents may they rest in peace, my wife and children, siblings and friends, it’s something to keep,” he shared.

As manager, Patricio García seeks to open the doors to those local players, who deserve an opportunity.

“I would like to be able to find the ideal players to put together a very competitive team and thus be able to fight for the Championship and at the same time provide a show for the fans.

“We have a lot of local talent, good litters of young players are coming, Nico García returns in another role, as well as the debut of the young Martínez, they are players to be followed by the local fans”, he concluded.

The players of the Reds held a night training session on the field, to fine-tune technical and tactical details, towards the start of Cibacopa in Mazatlán, on April 2, at 6:00 p.m., in the Lobo Dome of the UAD, when they receive Knights of Culiacan.
