SURYA.co.id | DENPASAR – Persebaya Surabaya’s chances of winning the 2021-2022 BRI Liga 1 title are slim after playing 1-1 against Persita Tangerang, Sunday (6/3/2022). Bajul Ijo began to talk about realistic targets ahead of the end of the League 1 season.
Persebaya Surabaya coach Aji Santoso also seems to have raised the white flag in the pursuit of the BRI League 1 title this season.
According to calculations, the chances of Persebaya Surabaya are already slim to bring home the BRI Liga 1 2021-2022 title to the City of Heroes.
If Bajul Ijo is able to sweep away victory in the remaining league matches, Persebaya Surabaya’s maximum points are 70 (now Persebayaya has 55 points).
If these achievements can be fulfilled, the opportunity for Persebaya Surabaya is to see other teams. Especially Bali United and Persib Bandung which are the top teams and the second position in the League 1 standings.
The two teams also have the potential to thwart Bajul Ijo’s clean sweep ambition. Both Bali United and Persib Bandung will be the opponents of Bajul Ijo in the last five remaining matches.
In addition to facing two candidates to win League 1 this season, Persebaya also had to overcome Persik Kediri, Barito Putera and Borneo FC.
“After we drew against Persita, it was getting thinner for us to be able to win the championship because the winner will be determined by the results of the other team’s matches as well,” said Persebaya coach, Aji Santoso.
For that, Aji Santoso hopes that his players will perform optimally when facing Persik Kediri at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Thursday (10/3/2022) this afternoon, match week 30 of Liga 1 2021.
If they win, Persebaya’s points will be the same as Bhayangkara FC and Arema FC’s points.
