Teh Indonesian U-19 national team kicked off their training camp (TC) on March 2nd, 2022, under the watchful eye of head coach Shin Tae-yong. Taking place at the Madya Stadium in Senayan, Central Jakarta, the initial focus of the camp was on enhancing the players’ physical conditioning.
Persija Jakarta’s Alfriyanto Nico,a member of the U-19 squad,shed light on the demanding regimen implemented by Coach shin. The first day saw players pushed to their limits with a grueling beep test and repeated 25-meter sprints, a total of 30 repetitions.

Andhika: That’s a valid concern. It’s a balancing act. Coach shin needs to ensure he’s pushing them hard enough to build the necessary physical foundation, but also understands the need for recovery and periodized training to prevent burnout and injury.

Andhika: I wouldn’t say emulate,but definitely draw inspiration. Global football is interconnected, and there’s always learning occurring across different systems. Coach Shin is a highly experienced coach who understands what it takes to compete at the highest level. It’s wise to adapt and incorporate proven methods that have success rates.
