Philippe Clement can work more relaxed again. Gelson Martins gave the Monaco coach the victory in the top match against Marseille. Monaco thus remains close to the top four in France.

After a 9 out of 21, Clement started the race at Marseille with some pressure on his shoulders.

In the Stade Vélodrome, Monaco was also grabbed by the throat for the break. Still, it scored first, but Lucas’ goal in the 42nd minute was ruled out for offside.

That moment actually changed the balance of power because after the break Monaco tapped from a different barrel.

Just before the hour, Gelson Martins opened the scoring for the visitors in the rebound. Monaco then forgot to finish it all off. It held out and with three major points in its pocket it returns to the principality.
