Frenchman Alexis Pinturault set the fastest time in the first round of the Alpine Skiing World Cup giant in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) on Saturday, and Swiss Marco Odermatt is 7th at 42/100. At the heart of a missed season, Pinturault set the fastest time for the first time, without creating any gaps before the second round scheduled for 12:30 p.m. The Norwegian Lucas Braathen is 2nd provisional at 01/100, the Slovenian Olympic vice-champion Zan Kranjec 3rd at 19/100. Olympic champion in the specialty and on his way to winning the general classification, Marco Odermatt is only 7th but remains close to the podium (42/100 behind Pinturault).
