Upon entering the archery hall of Ploermel (Morbihan)during training, we discover Ronan Peltier, a 16-year-old young man focused and above all passionate about what he does. He takes the time to chat, his head on his shoulders, he tells us about his journey.
Convinced by the Olympics
You have to go back to understand his desire to take up archery: it was when Jean-Charles Valladont gets the silver medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016 he decides to go for it.
I was already passionate about arcs whether in real life or in cartoons, but I didn’t think it could be a real discipline.
Neither one nor two with his dadhe is looking a club in the Sérent sector and turns to Round Table Archers of Ploermel. “I was pleasantly surprised by the number of clubs in Morbihan,” recalls Pascal, who has since embarked on the adventure with his son, having been fired for a year.
A dazzling progression
Living in Sérent and student at La Mennais high school in Ploërmelthe young man trains two to three times a week under the leadership of Magalie Catteau and her president, Muy Keang Picouwho sees in him a “a dazzling progression” since a few months.
To see Ronan’s talent, just take a closer look at his track record : in minimal, it is indoor champion and outdoor vice-champion at departmental level.
As a cadet, over three seasons, he is again vice-champion of Morbihan and fourth in the Brittany championship outdoor shooting at 60 meters. This year 2022, indoors, it is champion of Morbihan and get the third place in the Brittany regional competition.
Ronan Pelletier, 25th best French archer
From February 25 to 27, in Cholet, the Sérentaiscurrently 25th at the national level will rub shoulders with the gratin and compete against the 60 best French archers.
It’s a first, it’s going to be a discovery with a little stress. I still have the objective of fighting to pass the round of 16 and be in the top 8!
