Arrival of the fifth : 8 – 10 – 2 – 11 – 1
The first Sunday quinté of the year on the Butte Mortemart has kept all its promises. Long detached from their opponents during the course, Prince Which (#8) and Pinnacle (n°2), proved to be extremely catchy to finish on the podium. The better of the two runaways was ultimately the pupil of David Cottin. After jumping the last hurdle, Prince Which managed to put a good thrust back to get out of reach of his opponents. Winner of a claiming race this winter at Pau, the 5-year-old gelding seems to have progressed and should not stop there. First attempt, masterstroke for him since he won a first quinté at Auteuil, for his first attempt, while Kévin Nabet, his jockey, took the opportunity to sign his twentieth success at this level.
Author of a beautiful end of race, Hirson (n°10) took second place, stealing it by just one nose Pinnacle (n°2) who only abdicated near the post. In slight retreat, Hupeca de Thaix (n°11) completes the arrival of the quartet in front of the favorite, Kolina Has (n°1), which created an illusion between the last two hurdles before weakening to finish.
