Student defeated Huracán de San Justo 59-55 in extra time, in a very even match in which the local showed their hierarchy at the end to seal the result in their favor.
In this way, the team led by Daniel Piputto reaches fourth place in the West zone of the Buenos Aires-FeBAMBA Division with a record of three wins and three losses.
The match was very even from the beginning, in that first quarter it was possible to see the best virtue of the visit, high percentages of three points to finish the first quarter 11-14 with the advantage in their favor. A low goal that would be reflected throughout the game.
The second quarter was more of the same, Porteño continued with his low effectiveness from the three-point line, while the visit remained in that statistic, in addition, the Globe found other ways to score to end the first half with an eight-point advantage units, 26-34.
Starting in the third set, the locals adjusted especially in defense, a 2-3 zone complicated the San Justo team for much of the fourth. At the same time, the effectiveness of three points appeared and everything seemed to be heading for Piputto’s men who faced the last ten minutes of the game with a result of 38-41.
The last quarter was a sum of errors for both teams, neither could add, the effectiveness fell a lot in that final quarter, so much so that half of the points were converted from the free throw line. They arrived tied at 48 with 36 seconds to play, neither knew how to take advantage of their attack and the game went into Extra Time.
Five final minutes in which at times the public was the protagonist, a beautiful show offered by both stands when the meeting was not going through its best moment. The low scoring continued until the final moments, it seemed that neither could win it until Dameli’s triple arrived and with one minute left he gave the locals a difference of six, from which the Globe could not recover. The final score for Porteño was 59-55.
