From the Bundesliga to the Premier League!
Ex-RB coach Jesse Marsch (48) is the new coach at Leeds United. This was announced by the English first division club on Monday evening.
Marsch is Bielsa’s successor at Leeds!
The table-16. The Premier League parted ways with coaching guru Marcelo Bielsa (66) on Sunday. The “Peacocks” had previously picked up just one point from six games and conceded bitter bankruptcies. A 0:6 in Liverpool was followed by a 0:4 against Tottenham on Saturday.
The American Marsch was coach in the Bundesliga at RB Leipzig until December 5, where he had only scored 18 points from 14 games and ultimately had to accept three defeats in a row. With Red Bull Salzburg he was twice champion (2020, 2021) in Austria.
Leeds sporting director Victor Orta on the club’s website: “Jesse is someone we identified a number of years ago during his time at Red Bull Salzburg and we believe his philosophy and style of football is in line with the club’s and very well will suit the players.”
Board member Angus Kinnear: “He has shown in our many meetings that he fits in perfectly with the football culture of Leeds United”.
Leeds are currently two points ahead of the first relegation zone 18, but also two games more than Burnley FC. Marsch celebrates his Premier League premiere with Leeds on Saturday at Leicester City (kick-off 1.30 p.m., live on Sky and in the BILD.de live ticker).
