Karim Benzema shot Real Madrid impressively into the quarter-finals of the premier class against PSG. He himself had expected a strong performance.
Match winner Karim Benzema was already bursting with self-confidence before his gala in Real Madrid’s dress against Paris Saint-Germain (3-1) on Wednesday evening. In a published chat with French rapper Niska, the goalscorer announced ahead of his three goals that this game will be “his story”.
Benzema predicted to Niska: “It’s going to get really serious.” After Niska warned PSG would be targeting the 34-year-old, Benzema replied: “They (PSG) won’t do anything. That’s my story.”

Benzema followed up his announcements with action at the Santiago Bernabeu. He scored three goals in 17 minutes with the score 0-1 and a lost first leg (0-1) and thus led Blancos to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The in-form attacker then raved about a “mental feat” that his team had achieved: “It was a magical evening. We needed the fans, they pushed us a lot. Seeing them like this now… victory is for them. PSG is a top team, but we deserve it.”
