BMP has stated that it is not satisfied with the LAF’s permission to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes licensed by the LAF to continue participating in motorsport competitions in Latvia.
“After the meeting of the LAF Presidium, where Russian athletes are allowed to continue to start with licenses from the Latvian Automobile Federation, we consider it impossible to continue representing the LAF,” the team said in a statement. “We insist that Russian athletes may start with a Latvian license only if they publicly condemn the Russian regime and publicly call for an end to the war in Ukraine.
