For Leipzig, the route to Berlin leads via Hanover. In order to move into the cup final, RB has to get rid of second division 96 in the quarter-finals on Wednesday (6.30 p.m.).
And in a second-class place: The lawn in Hanover is badly battered and has been patched up with sand and grass plugs in the last few days. Even ex-Leipzig Dominik Kaiser (33) had to admit: “The place could be a small advantage for us.”

Danger of tripping on Hannover field!
A green carpet would of course suit the technically strong people of Leipzig much more. But coach Domenico Tedesco (36) does not allow this excuse. Tedesco: “I made the lawn a topic before training. And the team asked: Can that be a reason to miss a cup semi-final?”
Of course not. Tedesco: “We accept the role of favorites and want to make it to the semi-finals. Even though Hannover is on a good run and recently scored like a top team.” Under new coach Christoph Dabrowski (43) he scored 17 points in 96 out of nine games.
By the way: In addition to the cup, the game cancellation against Moscow (see page 11) was of course also an issue in the dressing room. Tedesco: “Individual players approached me at the weekend and talked to me. However, I didn’t talk about it in front of the whole team.”
Ex-club Spartak also responded to Tedesco’s UEFA exclusion on Tuesday. “Moscow now hopes that we can go far in the competition. They are keeping their fingers crossed for us now.”
