“I’m doing well, much better. For two months I moved on crutches. It was long and I had to start from scratch. But it was the right thing. The knee was not going well after Wimbledon,” the Swiss explained to the public broadcaster SRF Sports in Lenzerheide , where he went to attend a stage of the Alpine Skiing World Cup.
Federer specified that a few weeks ago he underwent medical tests that make him “very positive” about his future.
“Now I am slowly reaching a stage where I can think about coming back,” said the former world number one, adding that he still needs a little time before he reappears “at the end of the summer or beginning of the autumn (in Europe)”.

Federer, who will turn 41 on August 8, therefore confirmed that he does not see himself recovered in time for Wimbledon (June 27-July 10), a tournament he has won eight times in the past.
“It will definitely take a while. Until the end of the summer, the beginning of the autumn (of Europe). That’s the time I’m looking for my comeback. I’m much better now,” Roger said.
